We’re Sam and Henry, two brother’s from Connecticut and we created the hot sauce brand Hook & Arrow. We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about ourselves and what you can expect from this blog and Hook & Arrow in the future.

While Hook & Arrow is a condiment company, we see ourselves as much more than that. At a young age, our parents instilled in us the importance of nature through countless outdoor adventures. Hook & Arrow is a brand that honors the memories of those fishing, hiking and camping trips. We created these sauces to be the perfect addition to your next adventure.

As we got older and became focused on careers we noticed there was a disconnect from nature and the outdoors. Work and life stress began to take over and balance was missing in our lives. We realized that the more we were able to get outside, whether it be a swim in the ocean, hike in the woods or a fishing trip with our dad, the more balance we felt in our lives. Stresses seemed to subside and we developed an overwhelming, inexplicable joy returning back.

We knew something in our lives needed to change and it was around then that Henry left his job in search of balance but still not sure what that balance was. Then when the pandemic hit, both brothers found them living under the same roof again for the first time in close to 10 years. It was at this time that an idea started to be formed even though they didn’t realize it at the time.

Henry, always the creative one, began experimenting in the kitchen making hot sauce. He started giving hot sauce out to friends and family all across the country. When the feedback started rolling in, it was overwhelmingly positive and that’s when Sam chimed in and said, “I think you’ve really got something here. You need to share this with the world!!!”

Just like that Hook & Arrow was born…kind of. Truth is there were a lot of false starts, wasted time, bumps in the road and plenty of mistakes were made. We could have launched quicker, we could have taken shortcuts but we are happy with the steps we took to get where we are now. By not rushing we were able to deliver a high quality product with natural ingredients and not some thrown together mess.

Currently, we have 3 hot sauces:

• Cayenne, Garlic
• Pineapple, Jalapeno
• Habanero, Orange, Ginger

These sauces offer a wide range of heat and flavor and work well on a variety of foods and this is just the tip of the iceberg of what we plan on doing. We’ve got a handful of exciting sauces we’re working on finalizing in addition to other condiments. Our goal is to offer a full range of condiments that will make your taste buds sing.
